ALWAL EL SHAHHAT, known as 'Red', was already a proven broodmare by the time the Booths purchased her in 1985. Within months of moving to Texas, she easily completed these rides, (barefoot, before it was popular!) and returned to 'regular duties' in May of '86. Her rider, nine year old Thomas Booth, was terribly disappointed by this decision and so was offered his choice of another of the farm's horses. It wasn't until 1988 that his decision was made. When Red delivered a spunky colt right on his feet, there was no doubt the gift was meant for him.
Of seven foals she has produced IAHA Legion of Honor Stallion IBN TAAM-RUD+ (points earned only in endurance), 2000 IAHA Reg 9 Res Champion HAWLA AL BADIA+ and 2001 IAHA National Res Champion AAS FAHD ALWALIDA+/.
